Lulu T. Pott

In January of 2006 my wonderful husband, Rick, gave me an awesome gift. A weekend away by myself! At that time he had been doing a bit of traveling himself, so I was at home with the children almost 24/7 for up to three weeks at a stretch.

This weekend was probably nothing exciting on most people’s radar, but for me it was perfect. One room with queen beds at a Hampton Inn about fifteen miles from our home was all he arranged. Nearby were plenty of restaurants, a shopping mall, and a movie theatre.

So what did I do that weekend you ask? Well, I spent most of it putting the finishing touches on my novel, The Power of the Truth, which I self published and released to the public in July 2006 through lulu.com. After reading and editing for what seemed like the millionth time I called it done.

After working I decided to celebrate with one of my favorite things. Build a Bear Workshop! I wanted something fun to remind me of the work I had accomplished (nevermind the fact that it took 20 years to do it). This cute Carmel colored bear dressed like an editor is Lulu T. Pott. Her name came obviously from the website I used for publishing and the acronym of the book’s title. Lulu reminds me not just of my first novel, but a precious gift my husband gave to me.
